The Origin
Abeja's sourcing is rooted in El Salvador — where our family connection to coffee begins — and extends across Colombia, Guatemala, and the wider Latin American belt. We work with farms and cooperatives that care about what ends up in the cup.
Washed, natural, and honey-process lots rotate with the harvest. What's on bar is what's best right now.
The Flavors
Latin American coffees tend toward brightness, clarity, and sweetness — stone fruit, citrus, chocolate, caramel — depending on the origin, altitude, and process. Our Colombia washed is clean and balanced. The naturals run wilder. Guatemala brings structure and a clean finish.
Roasted Here
Everything is roasted in-house at 349 Scholes St. The roaster is in the same room as the espresso bar. Small batch means we roast frequently — what you drink was made recently.
The Space
Abeja is a roastery and café in East Williamsburg, past the busier parts of Williamsburg — closer to Bushwick, tucked on Scholes Street. Coffee cocktail nights, DJ sets, private events. A Latin American roastery doing its own thing in Brooklyn's creative corridor.
